Physiotherapist for Deepika please!

Deepika Padukone
Yet another B-town hottie is about to jump into the bandwagon. After Munni and Sheila, it’s Deepika Padukone’s turn to sizzle on screen. The actor recently wrapped up shooting for the remixed version of Dum maaro dum for Rohan Sippy’s movie by the same name. And the dancing was so strenuous that by the end of the schedule, she required the services of a physiotherapist to help her relax her muscles.

While Sippy finished shooting the film about a month ago, only this song was remaining to be shot for want of a suitable star. After considering stars like Katrina Kaif and Priyanka Chopra, Sippy opted for Padukone to shake a leg in Pritam’s remixed version of the RD Burman original from Hare Rama Hare Krishna. The original was picturised on Zeenat Aman and the new adaptation couldn’t be any less scorching.

After signing on for the number, Padukone rehearsed for three days under the guidance of choreographer duo Bosco-Caesar. The set, with a rural backdrop, was created at Mehboob Studio in Bandra, where the actor shot the song for another three days. However, despite her routine workouts, Padukone was so stressed by the end of the shoot that she could barely keep to her feet, reveals a source associated with the film.

Sippy, who’s also producing the film in association with Fox Star Studios, arranged for a physiotherapist for the actor. Confirming the news, Sippy says that the song, Dum maaro dum, is a fast-paced number. “The brief was energy, and more energy. The entire song is not just dancing, but also a good mix of grooves and moves. If it involved only hardcore dance moves, Deepika would have had to rest for a couple more days,” he says.

As for Padukone, she feels great to do some stretches. “I’m doing a pure dance number after a considerable time. I’m sure that in a couple of days, with the help of yoga, I’ll be fit and fine as always,” she asserts.
