Shah Rukh Khan, the King Khan of bollywood who was first hero of sizzling hot sexy siren Deepika Padukone in Farah Khan’s ‘Om Shanti Om’, still fascinates the leggy beauty so much so that she goes blank before him every time he comes face to face.

Deepika has candidly admitted that though after the super success of ‘Kal Aaj Kal’, ‘Haseena Maan Jayegi’, ‘Lafangey Parindey’, she had become a huge star, still she was unable to come out of her fixation for King Khan.

She wants to say a lot of things to him but whenever she gets opportunity to talk to him, she just can not decide where to start and goes blank, just staring at him. Er…er but Deepika, this is nothing new with beautiful girls and the fact is that most of King Khan’s fan followers would admit to something of the same kind.

And that is why SRK is a super star in bollywood. He has that mesmerizing effect on the audiences that even his lame films make money at the box office. However the strange thing is that King Khan himself can not decipher that star appeal.

That’s enigmatic. Something like fragrance, this can be felt but not explained in tangible manner. So, do not worry babe you are not alone in this crazy phenomenon.

However, Shah Rukh Khan seems to be more of a businessman than an obliging superstar. For instance when popular television serial makers of ‘Khichdi’ went to his residence to seek his support, he just did not allow them to enter Mannat. The team, which had gone to his house with high hopes, returned a frustrated lot.

The makers of ‘Khichdi: The Movie’ had decided to seek the support and blessings of Shah Rukh Khan as he had graduated from television to films. As ‘Khichdi’ was turning from serial to movie, they had written a letter to SRK about the whole thing.

However, according to Majethia, the maker of the show, when they reached ‘Mannat’, the guards did not allow them inside despite showing them letter. Even SRK was present at his residence at that time.

‘Khichdi’ makers wanted Shah Rukh Khan to unveil the first look of the film at his residence, but SRK did not come out of his house. The cynics say that when SRK takes money for his appearances so how could anyone expect him to be present or unveil the first look without getting some money in return.

Whatever the truth but Khichdi team was very disappointed with the SRK’s instance.

Deepika Padukone: Reasons why she erased RK tattoo from her nape

Katrina Kaif may well be one of the reasons why the leggy Deepika Padukone has erased the RK tattoo that kissed the nape of her neck. With the removal of this ink, she has eradicated even the last trace of memories that stayed clung to her body and mind.

Once upon a time…Deepika and Ranbir were head over heels in love with each other and they were never shy or coy about it. Candid and outspoken, they had no qualms admitting their feelings for each other as they used to walk hand in hand in the corridors of Bollywood. In fact, in one award function, Deepika was clad in such a resplendent blue corset that Ranbir couldn’t resist the smooch that he planted on her lips right before the media persons.

I'm over Ranbir: Deepika Padukone

She may seem reserved, but Deepika Padukone admits she's competitive with everyone, friends and co-actors she dates included.

You are known to be very intuitive about your work. Does that intuition guide all your decisions?

Absolutely. There's always a hunger in me to try something new, or to play a role like the one I have in " Lafangey Parindey"– of a visually impaired girl. That said, this was also the kind of role that needed a certain khullapan, you know, a certain confidence about your own self, which brings about freedom to do things like this. People usually say that I am very reserved and very shy, so I found this to be particularly challenging in that respect.

Professional challenges to change the public's perception about yourself?

It can actually mean a couple of things. It could mean that I'm shy and reserved as a person, but can mould myself completely differently as an actor. Or, it could also mean that I can bring about that change in myself.

Tattoos are usually read as signs of rebelliousness, and perhaps a bit of khullapan too. Are your two tattoos also a reflection of that spirit?

I've never discussed my tattoos and don't want to do so now.

Your confidence, it's often said, is even reflected in your gait and something as simple as your posture...

Is it? Thank you. These things are always reflections about the way you feel about yourself. The way you perceive yourself reflects in your person, even in a thing like your posture. Plus, I do a lot of yoga and I've also been a dancer. Perhaps my Bharatanatyam training reflects in my posture. They always teach you to stand tall and confident.

Seven films, several tribulations and adulations later, it's certainly not just Bharatanatyam that gives you confidence, is it?

Frankly, it's only been an upward growth for me since I've come to the industry. And with the work I am doing, I'll only learn from every actor and every director I work with. The appreciation is only getting better each day, and I love working hard for it.

Have you achieved the goals you had in mind when you came as a beginner?

I have just started. I am seven films old and I have grown as a person. I love my job, and enjoy what I am doing and I hope I don't achieve that stage soon where I am satisfied with what I've got. If I get that satisfaction now, there will be no fun left in achieving anything.

Define the satisfaction that you don't have and don't want yet.

I'm very critical of myself and the work that I do. I always want to better myself and continuously keep evaluating myself. Even though I give my hundred per cent, whenever I go back, I feel I could've done better, could have improved in a certain way. In that sence, I'm a fighter. I don't let go. I keep on fighting till the end.

Has there ever been a moment when you haven't wanted to fight back?

No. I'm very, very aggressive. It doesn't come across in my personality, people say, but you have to remember that I was an athlete, a sportsperson. For me, competition is very important and winning is everything. I need to be able to win. I have always been competitive about my work.

Isn't that strong a competitive spirit harmful? What happens when you date a fellow actor; doesn't the competition threaten to the relationship?

Competition at every level is good. As long as it only improves you and it is healthy, there should be no issues because of anything. I'm competitive with all my friends and every person close to me. Even if it is about friends, or if I am dating an actor or someone else too, I am a competitive person, but for my own growth. As long as you are not stepping on anyone to grow, and you are improving yourself, there should be no issue. It only becomes difficult when it is unhealthy.

Your friends and loved ones don't get bothered by this competitive spirit?

No, they've never been bothered by it. People who I am close to, know that competition is very important for me. It keeps pushing me to work harder.

How does your family figure into your scheme of things?

I discuss every single thing with my parents. It's always nice to know that you have them to fall back on and discuss everything. The industry is so demanding, I am really glad that my parents have been with me at every stage of my life. They appreciate whatever work I do, but are also critical and never hesitate to tell me so. Their honesty keeps me grounded.

Are they critical of your decisions?

Somewhere, when they allowed me to come to this industry, I know they expressed their trust in me in their own way. My parents trusted me to do the right things, the right kind of work, the right kind of films... and considering that I moved out pretty early, their trust was very important for me.

How early was that?

I started modelling when I was 19 and moved to Mumbai when I was 20 or 21.

You said that you've learnt that people have a basic need to know. Is it the same need to know about your personal life that you are catering to when you make constant appearances with Siddhartha Mallya, as an answer to your status quo?

I'd just like to let it be as it is at the moment and not say anything on this.

Your professional status quo is quite clear, though. You don't have any qualms about working with Ranbir Kapoor. Have you cast a line between the personal and the professional that clinically?

Sometimes in life, you learn to accept that certain things did not work out and you forget and move on. Where work is involved, you focus on just that. As far as projects with him are concerned, if there's a good film and a great script, then why not?

So, you have forgotten and moved on?

Absolutely.

I live life on my own terms- Says Deepika Padukone

Gorgeous Deepika Padukone is rarely pleased with what she does and in her three-year-old Bollywood profession she has done seven movies till date. She wants more movies in her basket and she is completely career motivated now.

Deepika has said that she loves live her life on her own conditions. She is very ambitious in life and she wants to complete her goals. She has also said that she expects a lot from herself which propels her to move ahead. She is a high flier and she is seldom satisfied with what she does.

Her latest film 'Lafange Parindey' has been released in B-town. In this movie she has played a role of a blind girl. She was been paired with the actor Neil Nitin Mukesh in this movie.

I'll not stop for anything or anybody: Deepika Padukone

She is young and raring to go. Deepika Padukone says she is hardly content with what she does and even though she has managed seven films in her three-year-old Bollywood career, she wants a lot more.

"I live life on my own terms. I have certain goals that I have set for myself, I want to achieve those goals and I expect a lot from myself. I'm extremely ambitious and I will not stop for anything or anybody. I am a go-getter and I am very rarely satisfied with what I do," said Deepika.

The 24-year-old, who was at the Radio Mirchi 98.3 FM studio in the capital to promote her film Lafangey Parindey, says she may have achieved a lot of success in no time, but it motivates her to continue doing good work.

"It is still the beginning for me. I have just done around seven films. So there is a lot more that I want to do, a lot more films, work with a lot of directors, give a lot of hit films and get hit songs to my credit which I can perform to later. I know I have come a long way from where I started, but still I have a lot to achieve," she said.

Deepika, the daughter of legendary badminton ace Prakash Padukone, stepped into showbiz as a model and started her movie career with Kannada movie Aishwarya in 2006, after which she made a dream debut in Bollywood opposite Shah Rukh Khan in Farah Khan's Om Shanti Om.

She followed up the success of her first film with Bachna Ae Haseeno, Love Aaj Kal and Housefull.

She is seen as a blind woman in her just released Lafangey Parindey.

"But what the film is going to do for me professionally, I will have to see after it releases and stays in theatres for a while. For now, the only thing I know is that it has been the most challenging film for me physically, mentally and emotionally," said Deepika who plays Pinky, a visually challenged girl with an ability to dance on skates.

Up next after this Pradeep Sarkar film will be a tough phase for Deepika as two of her awaited projects - Danish Aslam's romantic comedy Break Ke Baad and Ashutosh Gowariker's period drama Khelein Hum Jee Jaan Sey - will release at a space of one week.

"My next film is Break Ke Baadwith Imran Khan. It will release in the last week of November, and exactly a week after that, it will be time for Khelein Hum Jee Jaan Sey on Dec 3...tough  time"," said Deepika.

Her Break Ke Baad is a romantic comedy while in Khelein Hum Jee Jaan Sey, Deepika will portray the role of revolutionary activist Kalpana Dutta, who took part in the Chittagong uproar for Indian independence in the 1930s.

The film is said to be based on the book Do And Die by Manini Chatterjee, the daughter-in-law of Kalpana Dutta, and Deepika will sport a sari-clad, non-glamorous look in the film.

Seven films old and struggling to find her footing, Dips has finally hit bullseye with her latest flick Lafangey Parindey. Reviews are going gaga about her acting prowess and the leggy lass is raring to go.

"Deepika Padukone is more than competent. Despite an emotionally inscrutable part, she rivets your attention with her fluid body language and expressive eyes. She’s worth a dekko," said Khalid Mohammed.

Lately, rumours have been afloat that actress Deepika Padukone  has gone under the knife to get breast implants. The actress’s enhanced bust obviously was the reason why such rumours took root among gossipmongers.

Deepika to walk ramp at jewellery week

Model-turned-Bollywood actress Deepika Padukone will be the showstopper for popular jewellery designer Farah Khan Ali at the inaugural India International Jewellery Week (IIJW), starting in Mumbai on Sunday. "Said I would announce the showstopper. She is beautiful, warm and a stunner. She is none other than Deepika Padukone. Thank you babe," Farah, who will showcase her collection on the opening day of the jewellery week, posted on her Twitter page.

The five-day IIJW, hosted by Gem and Jewellery Export Promotion Council of India (GJEPC), will see collections from a melange of 30 designers, including Farah, Varun D. Jani, Bina Goenka and Rhea Nasta. Well-known jewellery brands like Mirari, Gitanjali, Amrapali, Tanishq and Ganjam will also participate in it.

The event is to be held at the Hotel Grand Hyatt, in Santa Cruz.

It will also feature 1,600 stalls displaying the works of 776 exhibitors, and participants from Thailand, Belgium, Israel, Italy, Turkey and the UAE will also set up their stalls.

Okay, this might sound shocking, but believe it or not, when Neil Nitin Mukesh narrates this story, it sounds like a rip-roaring comedy.

Recently, during an exclusive interview with zoOm, he told us how Deepika Padukone’s gola binge ended up with her sounding like Amitabh Bachchan. And the Lafangey Parindey jodi got into a banter about this. Neil said, “I warned her not to have too many. She probably had more than seven at one go. And when she landed on the sets everyone thought Mr Bachchan was there.” Ms Dee quickly defended, “It was very hot, and we were shooting outdoors. I had never had a gola before this... you don’t get golas in Bangalore. I loved the kaala khatta flavour.” Yeah, we know that the thing with golas is that you can’t stop at one. To the industry, actor Deepika Padukone is Shah Rukh Khan’s girl having made her debut in Om Shanti Om and she had also done a special number for his home production Billu. But it looks like Dippy has become good friends with one of the industry’s most powerful men, who’s also arguably Shah Rukh Khan’s arch rival.

First Dippy met up with Aamir Khan’s forthcoming productions’ lead actor Natha on Aamir’s request and again on Tuesday night, she walked in with her ‘close friend’ Sidhartha Mallya at the film’s private screening. “She is the next big thing and it is good to see that she does not believe in the so-called camps that exist in Bollywood. YRF's two-way integration with Colors for latest flick

Lafangey Parindey, the latest offering from the Yash Raj banner has done an integration deal with general entertainment channel Colors. Under the deal Deepika Padukone, the lead actress in the film will be shown participating in Colors' popular reality show India's Got Talent.

In Lafangey Parindey  Padukone plays a character called Pinky Palkar, a blind girl who is a fabulous dancer on skates.

As part of this two-way integration, Neil Nitin Mukesh, the lead actor of the film will make an appearance with Padukone in an episode of India’s Got Talent on Colors. This is a case of cross-media promotion as the film's starcast will promote the show on celluloid while the show will in return promote the film on TV. “Our association with Colors for Lafangey Parindey  is a unique integration based on the central theme of encouraging talent which is common to both the film and the show. Both the lead characters in the film come together with their individual aspirations to conquer the world.

And what better platform than India’s Got Talent which reflects the spirit of the movie and where anyone can rise to fame if he or she has a special gift and the will to achieve”, said, Rafiq Gangjee, vice president - marketing & communications, Yash Raj Films.

This is not the first instance of two-way integration in movies as in the film Delhi 6 , the lead actress Sonam Kapoor was seen participating in Indian Idol, a popular reality show on Sony Entertainment Television. The actress had then come to promote the film in one of the episodes of the show in its last season.

Bollywood actress Deepika Padukone has been linked to quite a few guys including Yuvraj Singh and Mahendra Singh Dhoni after his break up with Ranbir Kapoor. As if that's not enough, she has been linked to Sidhartha Mallya, son of liquor baron and MP Vijay Mallya.

The duo came close to each other during the last IPL matches. Deepika was even spotted at VIP box with Sidhartha. They denied having any affair but continued to meet even after the IPL was over. Now, another news is doing the rounds that Deepika flew to London after the shooting of Break Ke Baad in Mauritius, where she was joined by Sidhartha.

“Deepika flew to London after her Mauritius schedule for the F1 races and that is the time when Sidhartha joined her there. And after that, these two have been a couple,” The Times of India quoted a source as saying. ““For the first time in a year, Deepika’s smile has reached her eyes,” added the source.

Well, it looks like it's just a matter of time before they make their relationship public.

'Nattha' of 'Peepli Live' meets Deepika Padukone in Mumbai

Omkar Das, who has played a character role as 'Nattha' in an upcoming movie 'Peepli Live' had an opportunity to meet glamorous Bollywood actor Deepika Padukone of 'Om Shanti Om' here on Friday.

'Peepli Live' is the fourth film of Khan's Aamir Khan Productions Limited, which also produced 'Taare Zameen Par', 'Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na'.

Omkar, who played role of Nattha in the film, said it was his dream to meet the great actor, which was fulfilled in Mehboob Studio.

Nattha was quite delighted on meeting the popular actress. He presented a necklace.

"I became so happy. I have seen her 'Om Shanti Om' movie. I was not being able to watch the complete film due to work but now I will surely watch it with the DVD," said Omkar.eepika, in return also gifted him DVDs of her Bollywood films.She said the forthcoming film 'Peepli Live' seems very interesting.

"Whatever I have seen till now, I think it's quite interesting and Aamir Ji has asked me to attend the screening of the film. I think it will be really interesting and whatever I have seen by the promos, it looks like a different film and I am really looking forward to see it and I have heard a lot about his (Nattha's) performance in the film so I would like to wish them all the best," said Deepika.

The cast of the 'Peepli Live' includes eminent Bollywood actor Naseeruddin Shah, Omkar Das Manikpuri as well as Raghubir Yadav, Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Malaika Shenoy, along with a number of newcomers.

The film is slated for release on August 13.

If I am the face of the team, isn't it obvious that I would be sitting up with? I would be there with him supporting my team, right? It's but obvious that I would also be photographed. But does that mean I am going around with a guy? Come on, let's grow up. All of this just doesn't make any sense at all," Deepika told reporters.

"You know, all of this has become way too predictable. Every fortnight there is one link up or another. Today, even if I go out with my cousin brother, I am sure to see a headline next morning with announcement of yet another new relationship of mine. Really, it's all such a big joke now," she added.

But now it looks like their friendship has developed into something more romantic! At the time Deepika seemed annoyed with all the buzz but what will she have to say this time?

"I think even my parents have really given up now. There is absolutely nothing for my parents as well to react at all. There are no clarifications required. All they want now is to read about the work that I am doing and this is what they expect from people as well. Of course initially it used to bother them as well me. I used to clarify about these news pieces and everyone would understand that eventually there was no truth in it all. However, now since I have been in the industry for three years now, all of us understand that most of the written word is untrue after all," the Bollywood beauty said at the time.

Deepika Padukone’s bird problems

Not many can handle a desperate chicken trying to wriggle out of their hands, and actor Deepika Padukone must surely feature on the bottom of that list. Sources on the sets of Deepika’s new movie say that a shot required her to hold a live chicken for some time but she couldn’t hold still for a couple of hours.

“Deepika at first told her director that she will not be able hold a live chicken. It took a lot of convincing on Pradeep Sarkar’s (the director of the film) to get her to hold the bird as it was crucial for the scene,” says the source. After a round of talks with the director, Deepika finally agreed to hold the chicken but there was another problem – the chicken didn’t seem to like her!

“The bird would always flutter its wings and try to wriggle out of her grip. Deepika would break into a giggle whenever that happened.

At times, she let the chicken go and the unit members would have to go running after the chicken to catch it. They would bring the chicken back to Deepika and she would break into a giggle again.

This catch-and-giggle session with the bird continued for quite sometime,” says the source. After a few practice rounds, Deepika was finally ready to give the shot. “She managed to learn the ropes after a unit member showed her the correct way to hold the bird.

Deepika then finished the scene in a few takes. At the end of the day, it was a perfect take and Pradeep was happy with the way it turned out,” the source ends.

Deepika Padukone forces Neil Nitin lose his virginity

“Pradeep persuaded Neil and he finally saw his director’s point of view. But the actor was nervous. Deepika had kissed before on screen (Saif was the lucky man). Not Neil,” cites a source close to sets.

Apprehensive and reluctant, initially, Neil proposed a peck but eventually had to dive in for a minute-long smooch reminiscent of the iconic kiss between Aamir Khan and Karisma Kapoor in ‘Raja Hindustani.’

A submissive and visibly crestfallen Neil surrenders, “I can’t talk about this. But, yes, we’ve gone completely by the requirements of the script. And ‘Lafange Parinde’ is my first love story.”

Deepika Padukone may not have the luck to be in a steady relationship with her men but as far as being friends with her is concerned, nothing can change her equation with them.

She’s been friends with almost all the Ranbir’s friends in past and even after their break up she continues to be the friends with them. We last heard about her bonding big-time with Niel Nitin Mukesh during the shootings of Lafangey Parinde.
