Deepika Padukone beamed away brightly alongside Abhishek Bachchan at the music launch event of 'Khelein Hum Jee Jaan Sey' convened at a five star hotel in suburban Mumbai.
Clad in a fawn yellow blouse and light green sari ensemble, styled by Neeta Lulla, DP fielded queries from the media as regards her role of rebel Kalpana Datta, who took part in the Chittagong Uprising of the 1930s.
Lauding director Ashutosh Gowariker in no uncertain terms DP stated, "Honestly, it has been rather easy for me as Ashu Sir has done a lot of research for all the characters. Right from the film, the events of the film the details of every event. The saris, the blouse, the hairstyle, the size of the 'bindi', how many bangles I'll wearing on which hand, every minute detail was decided. The only thing we had to work on was body language and how Kalpana Datta will carry herself and how she would react in certain situations."
Added she, "Kalpana was a very strong woman and we have discussed about how it could be got across on screen. But most of the times, Ashu Sir did a lot of research for most of us, which made it all very simple for us."
There was no deficit of praise from Gowariker either as regards his lead actor as he stated, "How much ever research I do, it is finally the actor that gives it the body and its believability, makes it come alive. So I would say that yes, I did do the research, but ultimately it is the actors who helped pull it off."

Deepika’s Beau Siddharth Picks Priyanka Over Her
At the Kingfisher Calendar swimsuit model hunt 2011, Siddharth Mallya surprised his beau Deepika Padukone by picking Priyanka Chopra instead of Deepika for “the one having a perfect body in Bollywood”.
When reporters asked the question to Siddharth about “who he thought has the perfect body in Bollywood”? He without hesitating named Priyanka Chopra. “I think all of them are very beautiful and have great looking bodies but I feel Priyanka is particularly stunning,” he said.
Deepika also present at the moment, was not expecting such a reply from her beau but she sportily accepted saying, “I think I am blessed with a great face and body but her (Priyanka’s) mental state and strength makes her successful and how she carries herself.”
Bollywood actress Deepika Padukone, who happens to be girlfriend of liquor baron Vijay Mallya’s son Sidhartha Mallya was one of the judges to choose 15 girls for the Kingfisher calendar 2011. She was there to support her beau on choosing the models on Tuesday.
Deepika was one among 15 girls that made to the Kingfisher calendar in 2006 and on Tuesday she felt elated to choose the best 15 for the Kingfisher calendar. She was looking smashingly beautiful in a blushing pink draped short dress.
Deepika as a judge said that she’ll be looking for beauty with brains. “I think apart from just a great body and a great face, it’s also very important for the girls to be smart, witty and intelligent…It’s not the way you look but the entire package that matters. I think that being smart and intelligent takes one forward in life if you really want to become successful. So, I am looking for someone who is not just good looking but also very, very intelligent,” said Padukone.

Abhishek, Deepika launch soundtrack of 'Khelein Hum Jee Jaan Sey' in Mumbai
Bollywood actors Abhishek Bachchan and Deepika Padukone launched the soundtrack of Hindi film, 'Khelein Hum Jee Jaan Sey' here on Wednesday.
The movie is a period film and is based on author Manini Chatterjee's book 'Do and Die', which describes the Chittagong Uprising of 1930.
Bollywood lyricist Javed Akhtar, who was also present on the occasion, said the essence of the songs lay in the language.
"Now these characters are Bengali. If I use pure Urdu with them, that will sound false. So, it should sound as if it has just been translated from Bengali. That effect should come in the language," said Akhtar.
The movie's composer, Sohail Sen, said that creating the soundtrack for the film was a different experience.
"Giving that Bengal's feel to it. And looking into what instruments are used there like Madhav and Iktara (single-string) are used there a lot. Compiling the sound from those instruments, we designed the songs," said Sen.
"In period movies, like the one I did with Ashutosh Gowariker, the music was contemporary; but this one was a different experience. I wasn't scared but had lots of fun creating and exploring it," he added.
Director Ashutosh Gowariker said that the music of the film represents various emotions of revolution.
"The songs of the movie represent revolution and its different emotions whether it be patriotism or friendship or about the courage of the children. We wanted to convey these emotions. So far our promotions are focused on this theme only," he said.
The movie is set to release worldwide on December 3.

Deepika: Most average looking stunner
Known for her 'stunning' looks, Deepika stunned everyone as she appeared all covered up from head to toe in a sari as she tied her hair back in two braids!
Beauty lies in the eyes of the beholder. Deepika Padukone's fans couldn't agree more with the saying as the actress' beauty lies in her 'plain' simplicity more than anything else.
Didn't we like Deepika more in the 'dignified yesteryear actress' avatar in Om Shanti Om than the glamorous westernized look she sported in second half of the film?
Those dimples, big eyes are attractive enough for this former model to make the men go weak in the knees. Her ample cleavage show in her recent release Housefull was something Deepika fans would want to forget.
At the recently held music launch of her forthcoming film 'Khelein Hum Jee Jaan Sey', Deepika sported a simple cotton sari and tied her hair back in two braids. The actress wore minimal makeup to go with her earthy attire and the most common reaction her look garnered was, "Isn't Deepika the most average looking stunner!"
The tall frame and slim body structure is what makes the girl a model material but the face radiates desi-charm.
Covered from top to bottom in a sari that wasn't transparent and in a blouse that wasn't noodle strapped or sexy, the actress still looked effortlessly attractive!
A lesser known actress once rightly said, "Deepika is photogenic. She is abnormally tall for being a Hindi film actress, doesn't possess Peaches and Cream Complexion, nor is she conventionally good looking. However the girl is a head-turner, thanks to her confident body language, erect posture and her refreshingly real 'no-pretence' quality in terms of her performance, look or accent!"
Rekha, Bhagyashree, Rani Mukherjee, Karisma Kapoor... these actresses have sported those braids in the past but none actually made the 'average look' look glamorous before!
Wonder how many actresses can pull off the desi look with such beauty!

However, the latest addition in this year’s project is Bollywood actress Deepika Padukone, who happens to be girlfriend of liquor baron Vijay Mallya’s son Sidhartha Mallya. Well, before you start guessing lets clarify one thing that Deepika is not wearing two pieces and not modeling for the calendar. The actress is playing the role of a judge along with her beau to select the 12 sexiest models. She was there to support her beau on choosing the models on Tuesday.
Several models participated in the competition to feature in the popular Kingfisher swimsuit calendar. Speaking about the criteria of her selection, Deepika said that the models should be intelligent part from being just good looking.
Padukone added that she just doesn’t want a good looking face or a perfect body but a perfect blend of both beauty and brain. She thinks that if one really wants to be successful, she has to be the entire package of intelligence, smartness, good look and a perfect figure.
The actress added that she had been a part of the Kingfisher calendar earlier so she can identify with the aspiring models very easily. Deepika added that during her time, there was no model hunt and she feels lucky to get that opportunity. She said that Atul Kasbekar noticed her at that time as she already started modeling by that time and she did not even required to compete with anyone at that time.
Mallya stated that Kingfisher Calendar gives the biggest platforms to the aspiring models. He did not forget to compliment the models saying that they were bold and beautiful.
The calendar was launched in 2003, which was the first of its kind in India. We believe in association with an experienced model like Deepika, Sidhatha will choose some fresh and attractive faces, which will offer 12 fresh fragrances for 2011!

Deepika's a road trip gal
Deepika convinced her Break Ke Baad team to hit the highway after bad weather prevented them from flying to Delhi.
Deepika Padukone, Imran Khan and their Break Ke Baad producer Kunal Kohli and director Danish Aslam were scheduled to visit the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Delhi over the weekend for a promotional event. The team was to assemble in Chandigarh and board a flight to Delhi. However, an unexpected snow blizzard in Rohtang forced them to make an eight-hour long road trip instead.
Reveals Kohli, "It was the biggest adventure of our lives. We couldn't have imagined that a snowstorm in Kashmir would affect the weather in Chandigarh.
After the flights got cancelled, Deepika suggested we hit the road. She was very keen on making it to Delhi under any circumstance. Since she heard that the students had been looking forward to their visit, there was no way she wanted to cancel. Imran too decided to travel from Patiala, where he was shooting."
He adds, "We were all hungry, but Deepika was worried about getting mobbed. So we found a relatively empty place and she covered her face in a dupatta and got out of the car. We managed to have some chana bhatura, but soon word got around she was in the dhaba and people started crowding. We managed to escape before it got out of hand."
Talking about her first-ever road trip, Padukone says, "While Kunal and Danish were taking care of the logistics and making sure we got to Delhi on time, I was busy enjoying the adventure.
I think stopping at the local dhaba and having food was really memorable. Among all the travelling I have done, this particular trip will go down as something really special."
Despite the odds being against them and reaching Delhi past the deadline, Imran and Deepika managed to visit a mall and meet fans. They also met a few students from IIT and even recorded a video message for the entire campus.

Deepika Padukone and Sonam Kapoor: Eating from the same plate
Ranbir Kapoor dilemma is no longer there and hence, Sonam and Deepika have quietly drifted towards each other again. To begin from the beginning, all was well in the world of Sonam Kapoor when ‘Saawariyaa’ hit the theatres and she was cuddling up with Ranbir who was casually dating her at the time.
However, when Ranbir moved over into the leggy Deepika’s arms, Sonam was crestfallen and miffed and an acrimonious coldness had developed between her and Deepika. In fact, Sonam blatantly refused to star in films alongside Deepika. She refused Vicky Singh’s ‘Mera Jahaan’ that also starred Ranbir-Deepika (that time deeply in love). Sonam also ditched Rohit Dhawan’s ‘Desi Boyz’ that had Deepika Padukone as one of the female protagonists.
But now, the loveable Karan Johar has done the unimaginable. He has brought the two ravishing belles together on his show ‘Koffee with Karan’ whose 3rd edition is to go on air before long.
Well, now that both the women are on the same boat (both being the exes of Ranbir), it would be only wise that they kiss and make up. So, the next time you switch on your TV and watch the two ex nemesis eating from the same plate, try keeping your eyebrows at their place.

Imran-Dips can’t keep their hands off each other
If he had girls swooning over his lean physique in I Hate Luv Storys, it is learnt that Imran Khan is going to set the screen ablaze with his next release, Break Ke Baad. Reason: his chemistry with the lissome Deepika Padukone is believed to be raising the temperatures despite the chilling confines of the air-conditioned post-production suites. And the highlight of their chemistry is a long kissing sequence in the Kunal Kohli production.
Considering that Khan and Padukone are shown to be a couple in a relationship for a few years, director Danish Aslam felt that it was natural that physical intimacy be an important part of their being a lovesome twosome in front of the camera. While that would have taken time if the actors had been paired up together, the fact that they are good friends in reality helped establish that comfort in their onscreen relationship.
“So when it came to getting very touchy and cuddly, Imran and Deepika showed no inhibitions in bringing out the conviction of a couple in a relationship for years in the film,” says our source, adding, “In fact, Kirron Kher’s line, where she remarks that the honeymoon for the couple doesn’t seem to end was put in later, considering the kind of intimacy they share during the course of the film.”
Interestingly, despite Kher’s character cribbing about their getting too touchy, Khan and Deepika kiss under a table in the house. “Apart from being an intimate scene, there’s also an element of comedy considering the lead-up to the kiss under the table, which shows how in real life too, couples sometimes sneak away for their private moment or two,” says our source.
Declining to comment particularly on the lip-lock, Khan said that he and Deepika became good friends soon after they started shooting for the film. “So the camaraderie reflects in our portrayal of our characters. As actors, it’s our job to play the parts to perfection, without any inhibitions,” was all he was willing to say.

Deepika Padukone to Star in Ramesh Taurani's 'Race 2?'
When it comes to Ramesh Taurani's movie Race 2 a lot of names have been thrown around, and now Deepika Padukone has been thrown into the mix as well!
First reports out of Bollywood were saying that real life couple Kareena Kapoor and Saif Ali Khan had signed on to star in the sequel of the 2008 movie Race starring Saif Ali Khan, Akshaye Khanna, Bipasha Basu, Katrina Kaif, Anil Kapoor and Sameera Reddy.
Then the buzz was that director duo Abaas Mustan wanted to cast Saif Ali Khan and Anil Kapoor and give the rest of the cast the boot! That would mean that Kat wasn't coming back, which would make sense as she dies in the first movie, but Bips would also be left out.
As if that wasn't enough, Bollywood hunk John Abraham was rumored to play a bad boy in the sequel. With his much appreciated acting as a villain in films such as Dhoom, it made perfect sense that he would be cast as a villain in Race 2. But John's name is no longer in the race, so to speak.
Priyanka Chopra was also considered for a part and the Bollywood belle sure makes the perfect candidate to join the cast of Race 2. It was first reported that Priyanka was very excited about getting this offer and was trying to find dates to work on the movie.
But now another name has surfaced and it's not Priyanka's! The latest rumor out of B-town is that Deepika Padukone will take on the role that PC was supposed to play. Confused yet? Well, Priyanka has been busy shooting Saat Khoon Maaf and is currently in Germany filming Don 2 with Shahrukh Khan, so the question is if the actress has the time and motivation to shoot another sequel right after this one?
Which is your dream cast for Race 2? Do you think Deepika Padukone and Kareena Kapoor are a good choice to replace Bipasha Basu and Katrina Kaif? Do you think Dips and Bebo will be a hit or a miss in Race 2?

Deepika-Imran doing Homi Adajania’s next
Bollywood chocolate boy Imran Khan who is sharing the screen with Deepika Padukone for the first time in Break Ke Baad claims that he gels well with the actress. Not only Imran but the filmmaker Homi Adajania fells the same who has signed the duo for his next project.
Dinesh Vijan, Saif Ali Khan’s partner in production house, Illuminati will make the romantic film as a sole venture.
Vijan and Adajania feel that Imran has better chemistry with Deepika in Break Ke Baad, as compared to his past leading ladies – Genelia D’Souza in Jaane Tu Yaa Jaane Na (2008) and Sonam Kapoor in I Hate Luv Storys (2010).
Confirming the buzz, Imran Khan said,”We both had a lovely time doing Break Ke Baad and I am very happy that we are doing Homi’s next.”
Deepika has also worked with Vijan in Love Aaj Kal (2009) and Vijan and Adajania worked together earlier in Adijani’s Being Cyrus (2005).
Deeps has many projects in her hands right now which include Rohit Dhawan’s ‘Desi Boyz’ and Sajid Nadiadwala’s ‘Heer Ranjha’ with co-star Shahid Kapoor. While Imran Khan is currently shooting for ‘Mere Brother Ki Dulhan’ with co-stars Katrina Kaif and Ali Zafar and he holds the next with Karan Johar’s ‘Short Term Shaadi’ starring opposite Kareena Kapoor.
Well the duo is all set to fly high with their career in coming times.

Imran, Deepika pay tribute to SRK
The list of Shah Rukh Khan’s admirers is endless. And joining the fan club is the hot new on-screen couple Imran Khan and Deepika Padukone, who will be seen paying tribute to him in Kunal Kohli’s forthcoming production, Break Ke Baad.
Shot in Delhi, Mumbai and Mauritius, Danish Aslam’s Break Ke Baad is a romantic comedy. Imran plays a theatre owner and Padukone plays a wannabe actress in the film. The two, who are childhood friends, fall in love at a tender age and then break up. The film tracks their post break-up blues and how they manage to salvage their relationship despite being in two separate geographical locations.
“Imran enacts Shah Rukh’s signature steps in the title track Dooriyan. He is also very fond of SRK, who is popular as the king of romance,” says Kohli. In the past, Imran had reportedly hinted at Salman Khan in his debut film Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na’s song Pappu can’t dance (2008).
Padukone, who launched her career with SRK in Om Shanti Om (2007), is a big admirer of Khan. She too imitates him in the film. “In a drunken stupor in Break Ke Baad, she claims she is Shah Rukh Khan,” says Kolhi.

Deepika Padukone playing two contrast roles in two of her upcoming films
The “Om shanti Om” actress, Deepika Padukone, is playing two challenging contrast roles in two of her forthcoming films. She is playing the strong and passionate Kalpana in “Khalein Hum Jiye Jaan Se” and the happy-go-lucky Aaliya in “Break Ke Baad”. The actress said that playing two contrastive characters was really challenging for her.
Deepika Padukone did both the films immediately one after another. The plots of both the films are dissimilar to one another. While Ashutosh Gowarika’s “Khalen Hum Jee Jaan Se” is a period thriller and Kunal Kohli’s “Break Ke Baad” is a contemporary love story. In an interview Deepika said, "I did Break Ke Baad and Khelein Hum Jee Jaan Sey immediately one after the other. So I think it was very challenging for me in terms of my mind space to shift from the character in a romantic modern-day love story to the one in a period film."
The upcoming romantic number “Break Ke Baad”, directed by Danish Ashlam tells the story of a young couple who breaks and tries to unite later. Deepika is playing opposite Imran Khan in the film. Being a great a great admirer of Sharukh Khan, the actress along with Imran will be seen paying tribute to SRK in their upcoming film. When asked to Deepika if the character Aaliya have any similarity to the character Meera in “Love Aaj Kal”. The actress revealed that both the characters are completely different and opposite to each other.
Gowarika’s, thriller “Khalein Hum Jee Jaan Se”, is based on the book “Do or Die” by Manini Chaterjee. Beside Deepika Padukon, Abhishek Bachchan will feature in the film. Deepika’s radical gesture made the director signed the actress for the film. After seeing the trailer of the film one may be regretful why Deepika and Abhishek were not cast together before in any film.
Deepika said that though the stories of both the films are different but the two characters have some core qualities in common. Both Aaliya and Kalpana are independent, strong-minded and optimistic girls. The actress said, “They are girls who have their own set of ideals, girls who want to be independent; so in that way I have identified with both characters."
With films like “Lafange Parindey” and “Housefull”, the year, 2010 have been a great year for Deepika Padukon. Hope with the upcoming two films, Deepika’s coming year is unveiled with success and great hits.

Challenging to shift roles: Deepika
Deepika Padukone will be seen in two back-to-back films - as the free-spirited Aaliya in one and as the intense Kalpana in the other. The actress revealed that shifting roles was quite challenging for her.
"I did Break Ke Baad and Khelein Hum Jee Jaan Sey immediately one after the other. So I think it was very challenging for me in terms of my mind space to shift from the character in a romantic modern-day love story to the one in a period film," Deepika told IANS in an interview here at Turner Road.
Break Ke Baad, also starring Imran Khan, has been directed by Danish Aslam and produced by Kunal Kohli. It is the love story of a young couple who break up and try to come back together and will hit the screens Nov 26.
Khelein Hum Jee Jaan Sey, helmed by Ashutish Gowarikar, is a period film set in the Chittagong of British India. It revolves around a series of attacks that took place on a single night April 18, 1930, and its aftermath. The film, based on Manini Chatterjee's book, stars Abhishek Bachchan and Deepika in the lead. The film releases Dec 3.
While the characters of both the films are quite diverse on the face of it, the 24-year-old actress revealed the core characteristics were pretty similar and hence she relates to both of them.
"Even though one film is a period film and the other is a modern day relationship story, both the characters - Aaliya and Kalpana - are very strong, independent women. They are girls who have their own set of ideals, girls who want to be independent; so in that way I have identified with both characters," she said.
Deepika, who started her Bollywood stint in 2007 opposite Shah Rukh Khan in Om Shanti Om, went on to do films like Bachna Ae Haseeno, Chandni Chowk To China and Love Aaj Kal.
This year she has already had three releases, including Karthik Calling Karthik, Housefull and Lafangey Parindey.
Asked about the apparent similarity between her character in Break Ke Baad and in Love Aaj Kal, the actress said: "People feel that the films are similar, but that's probably because both the films are love stories. Just because the genre is the same doesn't mean that films are similar."
"In fact Meera's character from Love Aaj Kal and Aliya's character in Break Ke Baad are completely different. Meera was a more mature, understanding girl, who understood relationships, she liked the idea of being in love, whereas Aliya is a complete opposite.
"She believes that if you are in a relationship, it doesn't mean you have to get married. She doesn't believe that a couple have to live together and certain things like that. Her way of thinking about a relationship is very different. She is also very immature sometimes when it comes to relationships," she added.
Finally when asked about her experience of working with a debut director, the actress said: "Danish is a fantastic director; I think he is extremely talented and I'm not just saying this because I am working with him, but I think part of the reason for me to say yes to this film is because he came across as someone very confident, in spite of being a first time director."

Fashion Police: The Star Stylista vs. The Fashion Sinner
Fashion Sinner - Aishwarya Rai Bachchan at Guzaarish First Look
I have to say this weeks worse dressed award has to go to Aishwarya Rai Bachchan. Really Aish you're a gorgeous girl but what were you thinking when you decided to step out the house wearing this hideous top. It makes you look old and frumpy. Aishwarya please get a better stylist or read some fashion magazines and wear something that enhances your beauty and flatters your figure, I am tired of seeing a beautiful woman like yourself make so many fashion mishaps!
Star Stylista - Deepika Padukone
Deepika Padukone gets the first Star Stylista; she looks gorgeous. I love the body hugging dress that shows of her amazing figure. The green colour enhances her glowing skin making her look regal! I love that Deepika has decided to choose this dress in a colour that many actresses do not go for, but really should! Deepika has thought about her whole look, from the gold heels, and the antique pearl earrings to her hairstyle. Deepika you are indeed a fashionable Bollywood babe!

Deepika is very well connected
Just a few days ago, we spotted Deepika Padukone playing the good daughter by her father Prakash Padukone's side at the Commonwealth Games in Delhi and cheering for badminton player Saina Nehwal.
But now she's back in Mumbai, promoting her upcoming film "Khelenge Hum Jee Jaan Se" opposite Abhishek Bachchan.
The sultry Bangalorean beauty is constantly on the move and what keeps her connected "is my BlackBerry", she admits. "I love what I do and apart from acting, I like to stay connected wherever I am. The BlackBerry Torch offers rich Multimedia; the power of full touch and qwerty keypad. It's an all-in-one phone," claimed Deepika, who launched the smartphone with Frenny Bawa, managing director – India, RIM, in Mumbai.
Happy about the similarities between herself and her 'coolest' innovative phone, Deepika says, "We're both sleek, stylish and trendy."

Abhishek Bachchan, Deepika Padukone: First look of ‘Khelein Hum Jee Jaan Se’
Abhishek Bachchan and Deepika Padukone, the pair to be seen in the forth coming Ashutosh Gowarikar’s ‘Khelein Hum Jee Jaan Se’, are touted to be looking exactly their part in the film. As reports about the first look about the film are pouring in from all fronts, it is being buzzed around that the two B town stars look just as simple and down to earth in the flick, as was required by the script.
The film is based on the book ‘Do or Die’, by Manini Chatterjee, and is a story based in the time period of the 1930’s when the struggle against the British was gaining momentum, has some very striking sports based scenes in it too.
According to reports, the director, Ashutosh Gowariker has said that this film does not have any resemblance with his earlier film ‘Lagaan’, which was also a period film, and which had the cricket match as the main crux of the film. This flick, which has some very prominent scenes of attacks by the revolutionists, is quite a striking USP of the film. However, the film has been shot as has been mentioned in the book, with almost no changes in the basic storyline.
Abhishek Bachchan, who plays a young man called Surya Sen, gets supporters in the form of almost five dozen teenagers, who are shown fighting for their rights against the British anti Indian policies.
Deepika, who plays an important role too, is going to be seen in the traditional sari clad look of those times, and since the flick has some very historical elements in it, it is being seen as one major attraction to be released in the forth coming months. Abhishek and Deepika in this period film are being well appreciated, with the first look itself.

Madhuri to judge Deepika Padukone's dance moves?
Bollywood dancing diva Madhuri Dixit may soon be judging the dance moves of Deepika Padukone this December on a popular dance reality show.
The producers of \'Jhalak Dikhla Jaa\' are in talks with the Madhuri and Deepika for the fourth season of the Sony TV show, a production house source said.
Madhuri, who ruled Bollywood in the late 1980s and 1990s, left the limelight after her marriage in 1999.
Fondly remembered for popular dancing numbers like \'Ek Do Teen\', \'Choli Ke Peechhe\', \'Dhak Dhak\', the actress is considering the small screen offer seriously.
Actor Sonu Sood, who has become a hot property in Bollywood after playing the bad guy in the superhit \'Dabanng\', is also being considered as a contestant.
Adding a twist to the show would be political leaders, who would try their hand at dancing, creating an eclectic mix of participants and judges.
\"We are also trying to rope in wives of some popular politicians,\" the source added.
Being produced by BBC Worldwide Productions, \'Jhalak Dikhla Jaa\' follows the same format as the international program \'Dancing with the Stars\', which has become a global phenomenon.
The Danish Prime Minister\'s wife had taken part in series five of the Danish version of the show, while Italy\'s fifth season saw royalty take part for the first time in dancing history when Prince of Venice Emmanuel Filiberto won the series.
\"The fourth season promises to be bigger and bolder than the successful seasons before it. We are working closely with Sony to bring some extremely popular Bollywood, TV and other celebrities to the new series and we have a fabulous\\ response,\" Myleeta Aga, general manager and creative head of BBC Worldwide Productions India, said.
Footballer Baichung Bhutia won the last season of \'Jhalak Dikhla Jaa\'.

Hrithik Roshan, Akshay Kumar, Deepika Padukone: The great innovative promotional strategies in film Promotion
Bollywood stars have evolved themselves to a great extent in striving to go with the flow of modern innovative ideas and the alluring factor to woo the audiences to flock theaters with innovative film promotional strategies.
Reports are that Hrithik Roshan the tall and elegant green eyed B Town hunk, is going to go about in all important places that are teenage hub spots, like malls and multiplexes, in a wheelchair soon.
Surprised? Well, the truth is that he is going to do that, because that is how he will be seen in his forth coming flick ‘Guzaarish’, where he plays the role of a magician, who is gets paraplegic, and thus is ridden into a wheel chair, where he is nursed and looked after by Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, who plays a nurse.
Then, we have action master of B Town, Akshay Kumar, who will be sporting his retro look and go from place to place shortlisted for the promotion of his Diwali release ‘Action Replayy’,where he plays a character, based on the 70’s look, also having Aishwarya Rai Bachchan as his leading lady in the film. However, sadly enough, Aishwarya will not be available for the promos of both the flicks, as she has left for the Pusan International film festival on the 7th of October, night.
By the way-Akshay has gone a step further, as reported earlier, he is already sporting a retro look in real life too, and this he will do till this Diwali, when the flick releases!
Then, to add to the list of innovative film promotions, is also Deepika Padukone, who has already started tweeting as Aalia Khan, which is her name in the forth coming flick, ‘Break Ke Baad’, with Imran Khan as the male lead.
During a recent interview, Deepika went on to clarify that she does this so that the audiences get to identify the character that she plays in the film, even before it releases!
My, my, now how much more innovative can one get above that? Well, with Bollywood stars and their young brand of directors, you just never know! Till something new comes up, just get used to this strategy, wondering what next?

Deepika Padukone turning the clock to bygone era
Ranbir Kapoor’s ex flame Deepika Padukone is all set to turn the clock back to the sweetly nostalgic era of the 70s as she steps into the garbs of the yesteryear actress Sharmila Tagore.
Reports are rife that a renowned film maker is contemplating a remake of Shakti Samantha’s 1971 classic ‘Amar Prem’ that starred the mesmeric Bong beauty Sharmila Tagore in the female lead. For the remake version, leggy Deepika has been approached and she has had no hesitance, whatsoever, in accepting the role with glee. In fact, Deepika feels it’s a privilege and an honour for her to pay a celluloid tribute to the heart throb of the masses- the one and only Sharmila Tagore.
She gushes in ecstasy, "I think it’s a great compliment. I’d love to do a film like Amar Prem. I want to do a classic Hindi-film heroine’s part. That’s my true calling. I’m really looking forward to it."
Meanwhile, Sharmila is ironically playing her mother in a film titled ‘Break Ke Baad’ and the mother-daughter duo (on-screen that is) are gelling well and bonding big time. Hope Deepika’s shrewd eyes are observing Sharmila’s mannerisms and style. They would come in handy in a few weeks time.

Siddharth grabs her long legs after Ranbir Kapoor’s Ajab Prem
Long legged siren Deepika Padukone was once a Ranbir Kapoor girl and the Saawariya had her legs (and much more) clasped firmly in his fist. However, for reasons unknown (some say Katrina Kaif), Ranbir lost Deepika who is now fluttering elsewhere.
Eyebrows got raised slightly when Deepika was spotted gelling well with the alcohol baron Vijay Mallya’s son Siddharth. However, he was rotund and pot-bellied and the duo looked a mismatch. But, prompted by some divine kind of self-motivation, the young lad has now shed loads of pounds and is sporting a leaner look; something that has, certainly, been noticed by Padukone’s shrewdly observant eyes.
Though, Deepika is shrugging her shoulders when quizzed about the reasons why he has lost so much weight, she is being nonchalant yet refusing to accept or deny her love story 2010. Trying to squeeze a dismissive chuckle, she says matter-of-factly, "We all know how true such rumours are. I’m very uncomfortable about talking it. Let the press write and say what it has to. I’m not saying anything."
There was a phase when she had no qualms in openly speaking up about her love life. However, post-Ranbir, Deepika seems to be a cautious gal who is obviously not counting her chickens before they hatch. And by the looks of it, she and Siddharth are, certainly, an item.

CWG fever grips Deepika Padukone (Games Sidelights)

To cater to the growing demand of mugs, water bottles, t-shirts and other items with the imprint of Shera, the games mascot, a merchandise shop has been set up right outside the main press centre at Pragati Maidan.
According to an official, while t-shirts, priced at Rs.275, are the biggest hit, mugs and bottles are also selling fast. Aloe Vera health drinks - in green apple and litchi flavour - oil and shampoos are also popular.
'The demand is good and we have in fact been asking for more orders, but it hasn't come,' the official complained.

When the whole Haryana village came to cheer
Wrestling has become one of the most sought after sports in the Games. And guess who all are the audience - vocal citizens of Haryana.
At the K.D Yadav Wrestling Arena in the Indira Gandhi Sports Complex, hundreds of people from Haryana are lining up to cheer Indian athletes.
'After boxing, wrestling is the most popular sport in Haryana. In fact, majority of wrestlers in Indian contingent are also from Haryana. We have come here to support them,' said Mahender Kadyan, who had come to the stadium with a number of his friends.
Another enthusiast said : 'I have taken five-day leave from my office to see wrestling matches daily. I am coming here everyday since Tuesday. Like me, many people from my locality are also coming here everyday.'

Long wait for athletes irks journalists
Journalists waiting to cover the press conference of the Indian women wrestlers Saturday threatened a walk-out after waiting for the team for an hour. The conference which was scheduled to begin at 2 p.m. did not start until 3 p.m.
Those handling press operations along with an army of volunteers were immediately on their feet trying to pacify a few journalists who started getting angry at the long wait.
But as luck would have it, the wrestlers arrived soon after - prompting the photographers to take their place in a jiffy and start taking pictures - putting aside all the drama.

Dont talk to officials!
After Kavita Raut won the bronze in women's 10,000-metre run at the Jawaharlal Nehru stadium, many scribes turned towards the athletics federation officials for their bytes on the win.
Perhaps, not liking the fact that the athlete is not getting her due, many volunteers pleaded with other scribes to instead talk to Raut.
'Why are you talking to them? What have they done to deserve your attention? Don't talk to them sir,' said some volunteers at the stadium.
'You talk to the athletes, sir. You talk to Kavita, but not to these officials, please. What have they done? They only come when its its time for photo sessions or media conferences. We are seeing all these things from close sir all these days,' they said.
An excited Deepika Padukone tweeted: 'On my way to watch the badminton finals of the commonwealth games...india plays Malaysia! can't wait!'
She then tweeted: :'Malaysia currently leading 2-0. Saina Nehwal playing right now. we need to win this and 2 more to win the gold!'
With so much of support, Saina won the match.
But Deepika, who was accompanied by her equally famous tennis player father Prakash Padukone - he was All England badminton champion in 1980 - is not the only one tweeting on CWG.
Ace shooting star Rajyavardhan Rathore, who is not playing in CWG, has been tweeting non-stop from all the matches that he has been visiting daily. 'Boxer Vijender's father n brother waiting for his boxing match to start at # CWG.'

Cheers for Pakistani boxers

In a jam-packed stadium at Talkatora Stadium, Indian spectators rooted for Pakistani boxer Nisar Khan who playing against Seychelles Jean Jovette in middle 75 kilogram category.
With good wishes from Indian fans, it was but natural that Khan won the match.

Deepika Padukone's Stunning South Asian Bride Cover
Simply stunning! Bollywood babe Deepika Padukone sports a gorgeous, red Tarun Tahiliani attire on her October cover of South Asian Bride magazine and she looks amazing!
Could Dips be sending out a message to her rumored new beau, IPL heir Siddharth Mallya? It's not the first time the actress poses for bridal magazines but as the two rumored love birds are spotted regularly at industry events, we can't help to wonder if love is in the air!
"Let's just say I am in a happy space. When things happen in life, they happen for a good reason. I am happy with whatever has happened in my life personally and professionally, this year. Two things could've happened. I could've allowed myself to let one experience shatter and ruin me. And the other was to stand up and get on with my life," Deepika recently told the Times of India.
At first she tried to deny the romance, saying, "If I am sitting with the owner of my IPL team, there is no reason why I should be linked up to him. If I am the face of the team, isn't it obvious that I would be sitting up with? I would be there with him supporting my team, right? It's but obvious that I would also be photographed. But does that mean I am going around with a guy? Come on, let's grow up. All of this just doesn't make any sense at all."
"You know, all of this has become way too predictable. Every fortnight there is one link up or another. Today, even if I go out with my cousin brother, I am sure to see a headline next morning with announcement of yet another new relationship of mine. Really, it's all such a big joke now," she added.
But now it looks like their friendship has developed into something more romantic and maybe the wedding bells will soon be ringing! Are you digging Deepika's cover on South Asian Bride? Share your thoughts.

Deepika keeps mum on her affair with Siddharth
Deepika Padukone is not denying her love for Siddharth Mallya. But she isn't admitting it either. Tell her about the rumours and she laughs, "We all know how true such rumours are. I'm very uncomfortable talking about it. Let the press write and say what it has to. I'm not saying anything."
So did Siddharth lose weight on svelte Deepika's say-so?
Speaking of Sid's size, Deepika sighs, "Let me put it this way. If someone decides to lose that much weight the willpower has to come from within, and not from someone else. Beyond that, I wouldn't know why he lost so much weight. I never had to lose so much weight."
She opens up when talking about her career. At the moment it's all very hush-hush. But here's the inside information. A very sensitive and passionate filmmaker known for his epic vision and grand spectacles is planning to remake Shakti Samanta's 1971 classic Amar Prem. The director will cast Deepika Padukone in Sharmila Tagore role.
And Deepika is all for it. "I think it's a great compliment. I'd love to do a film like Amar Prem. I want to do a classic Hindi-film heroine's part. That's my true calling. I'm really looking forward to it."
There is a special bonding burgeoning between Deepika and Sharmila Tagore who plays her mother in new-director Danish Aslam's film Break Ke Baad. The screen mother-daughter spend hours together.
Deepika can't keep the admiration out of her voice while speaking of the senior actress. "We had our dimples in common, and that broke the ice. She's one of the most elegant ladies I've come across."

Deepika, Ranbir together again!
The reports of Deepika Padukone accusing once-upon-a-time boyfriend Ranbir Kapoor of cheating on her are so passƩ.
And though the duo have definitely moved separate ways, there's no bad blood between them. Deepika and Ranbir share a rather cordial relationship. In fact, the leggy beauty — who is now linked to Sidhartha Mallya — had absolutely no issues picking up the phone to wish Ranbir on his birthday.
She's also recently been heard saying that she's in fact, looking forward to doing a film with her ex-flame in the future. Hmm, our tinsel town stars seem to be mastering the art of moving on amicably. Recently, bad boy Salman Khan did an item number with Katrina Kaif for Farah Khan's Tees Mar Khan.

The actress went on to add that acting is not jut challenging but it whole lot of fun than being just a model.

"I have signed three new films, one is a new director called Rohit Dhawan, he is David Dhawan's son and his film is called Desi Boys with Akshay Kumar and John Abraham. So, that is one film," said Deepika.
She added, "The one after that is Vishal Bharadwaj's film and the film after that is a film directed by Homi Adajania. He has made a film called Being Cyrus, and that film is being produced by Illuminati Films, the same films that produced Love Aaj Kal, and that is with Imran Khan.”

As real as she gets
Deepika Padukone may be tweeting on life and work, but the actor says that the line between her public and private spheres can never blur.
For someone who's just wished Ranbir Kapoor a happy birthday and success for “Anjaana Anjaani” over Twitter, Deepika Padukone insists: “You don't get to know much about me through Twitter.”
“I am a very private person,” she declares, when asked how much of the real her we get to know through her updates on the social network. Her last few tweets have been about relationships as seen through the eyes of Aaliya Khan, her character in her next film “Break Ke Baad”. It is not the work of a publicist, she says.
Sample: “Aaliya believes being in a relationship does not make ‘my' future ‘ours'.” Or, “Compromises are important. However, Aaliya has a problem when the relationship becomes compromising.” Or “Aaliya believes a Facebook status doesn't determine your relationship status.” “It's something I believe in,” adds Deepika, almost contradicting her belief that we will never find out much about her through Twitter.
That's Deepika for you, the anti-thesis of Aishwarya Rai who has often been criticised for being superficial. You can see the real Deepika for who she is, no matter how hard she tries to carry herself off as mysterious or secretive. Come on, the girl once got a tattoo of someone's initials. How superficial can she be even if she tried?
Talking shop
Deepika comes across as the nervous girl-next-door who really seems to believe everything she says.
In Chennai to launch Fiama Di Wills' anti-hair fall shampoo and conditioner, Deepika knows what she needs to be saying. She says it at the interview, repeats it to every journalist and says it again at the press meet. “We take care of our skin, but hair is often neglected. I think this is something people should pay attention to.”
Is the product tested on bunnies? “No. That I can definitely tell you,” she smiles. Okay, now we are going to quiz her on chemicals the product contains, we tease the publicists. “I am not a scientist,” she says, matter-of-factly.
“I have full faith in my brand. You can't be selling your product without having done your research. I believe in endorsing products I would use myself,” she adds. Her association with the brand goes back three years. “After a point, it's like family. It's more of an association than an endorsement.”
How much of research does she really do about products she's associated with? “I ask them what they want to launch, the positive effect it is going to have. I am told well before the photo shoot what we are shooting for, which markets we are looking at, why we are looking at a certain product during a certain period. When you know the background of what you are doing, it just makes your work that much easier.”
It's the same when it comes to her scripts. “When I get a narration, I instinctively know if I want to do the film or not. I prefer narrations to readings.”
Coming up
She has Danish Aslam's “Break Ke Baad” and Ashutosh Gowarikar's “Khelen Hum Ji Jaan Se” releasing this year and uses her social media to talk about everything she's associated with — be it products, films or even friends.
She promised to bake a cake for Siddhartha Mallya and the Royal Challengers Bangalore if they brought home the Champions League Trophy. Damn, how will we ever get to know the real Deepika?
But seriously, how does she cope as the lines between the public and private spheres blur with social media? “For me, there's no blur. There's my personal life and there's my professional life. Of course, there are a lot of questions. But then, I choose to answer what I want to answer.”
She even has the grace to put up links to reviews that haven't been flattering to her or her films. Her critics have maintained that she cannot act. But, she's completely cool about it.
“Today, if I am working with directors such as Imtiaz Ali, Pradeep Sarkar or Vishal Bhardwaj and people still insist that I can't act then, people should actually be doubting the credentials of these critics. After seven films, if I am working with directors who are known to be good and who bring out good performances, I must be doing something right.”
