No not that the tall, dimpled beauty is turning politician or something… It’s of course related to her profession…
For her forthcoming movie ‘Aarakshan’ Deepika Padukone is quite keen that she plays her role very perfectly – be it looks or language wise. Now being a Prakash Jha’s movie one can expect the lingo to be purely desi.
The actress’s character in the film is expected to speak pure Hindi as well as Sanskrit. So it was bit problem for Deepika to catch hold of the language. In order to get the perfect diction, sources said, that she is taking special classes, which will certainly help her to dub better for the film. “I can't sound like someone who has no hold over the language
I'm perfecting my diction and I'm confident that I will have no problems while dubbing," remarked Deepika to sources. Now that’s what we call a ‘beautiful’ commitment, right?
Slated to release on 12th Aug 2011, ‘Aarakshan’ stars Amitabh Bachchan, Saif Ali Khan, Manoj Bajpayee, Deepika Padukone, Prateik Babbar, Shabana Azmi and Hema Malini.

Deepika's dream city: London
If you were in London two weeks ago, during the British Grand Prix at Silverstone, then chances are that you'd have spotted tall and sporty actress Deepika Padukone, who was cheering for the Indian team there.
Absolutely in love with the architecture of London, the actress said the race was an incentive to visit this destination yet again. "Silverstone is a prestigious race track. I was overwhelmed with the sheer number of people who had come to watch the race. It's also amazing how drivers whiz past you on the tracks and reach the finishing point within minutes. I've become a fan of this sport now," she added excitedly.
London of course, has its own charm on Deepika. She had shot for long periods during the making of Housefull and Luv Aaj Kal here. She said that everytime she's in this city, she makes sure there's ample indulgence in food and shopping. "I am a big foodie. And I love to check out new eateries. Every afternoon, I used to hop into eateries and get drawn to the delicious aroma of dimsums and soups. I quite love the Italian fare there apart from the Japanese dishes at other stop-over. The choice is plenty," she added.
There's no better place to soak up some culture. Whether you prefer history or modern art, you'll find it in the streets of London. Here's where you can head:
British Museum: The world-famous British Museum exhibits the Parthenon sculptures, paintings and also mummies of ancient Egypt.
Hyde Park: I love jogging at Hyde Park. It's an ideal place to relax, cycle, walk or just go for a run after a hectic day's work. I met so many Indians there, who came by to greet me. Hyde Park is one of the largest Royal Parks of London, famous for its Speakers' Corner.
The London Eye: A major feature of London's skyline, it is the world's highest observation wheel. You can climb aboard for a breathtaking experience, offering you unforgettable views of more than 55 of London's most famous landmarks - all in just 30 minutes!
Oxford Street: Shop till you drop at Oxford Street. The place is always brimming with attractive offers. Incidentally. Oxford Street is also Europe's busiest shopping street.
The Big Ben : Big Ben is one of the best-known landmarks. It looks most spectacular at night when the clock faces are illuminated. It is said that the name Big Ben actually refers not to the clock-tower itself, but to the 13-tonne bell hung within.

Deepika's 'Dum Maaro Dum' stirs a fresh controversy
The song 'Mit Jaye Gham' from Rohan Sippy's Dum Maaro Dum has been in the news since the time of its release. Although it has become quite popular with young listeners, it seems to be causing yet another controversy.
The track, which features a skimply clad Deepika Padukone taking the item route, was earlier stirring a different plot, with reports that it had upset veteran actor Dev Anand. The actor was reportedly miffed over the use of lyrics from Zeenat Aman's track Dum Maaro Dum in his film, Hare Rama Hare Krishna.
Though that issue was clarified by the film's director, Rohan Sippy, who had said he got rights for lyrics for the song from Saregama, it is not the only problem that has risen for the track.
The lyrics of the song seem to be making a lot of people uncomfortable, with many believing that the steamy track is too hot to handle. There have also been complaints over the language used in the track, believed to be too course.
Lyricist Jaideep Sahni, who composed the Mit Jaye Ghum track offers an explanation and reasoning for the track. Sahni, who has earlier composed lyrics for songs of Company, Khosla Ka Ghosla, Chak De India, Salaam Namaste, Bluffmaster and Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi feels that the coarse tone of the Deepika Padukone track is because it was needed.
Sahni said, "These lines are actually taken from a longer piece of rap, written specifically for a situation of drug pushers and users in a drug induced delirium. The rap form was chosen because it's very effective in reflecting anti-establishment thought and behaviour, and usage of strong words to make a larger meaning is inherent to the very form.”
On why he chose to frame the track over lines from the Hare Rama Hare Krishna song, he said, “They were selected and placed together with the famous hippie song of the 70s in a directorial decision and vision to bring out the contrast between earlier hippie culture and today's drug mafia which is vicious and brutal. It's basically related to the subject of the film and hopefully will be seen in better clarity once the film releases.”

Deepika Padukone’s ‘Dum Maro Dum’ number surpasses ‘Darling’ popularity, hopes chorepgrapher Bosco
Bollywood actress Deepika Padukone is in the news for her special dance number in the title song of ‘Dum Maro Dum‘ and its choreographer Bosco hopes that it surpasses the popularity of ‘Darling…’
”Munni…’and ‘Sheila…’ have their own space and have already done what they had to do. We are looking forward to ‘Dum Maro Dum’ becoming one of the chartbusters. If we can do that, I think then we are kind of sorted,’ Bosco told IANS.
‘I think it should be one of the biggest after ‘Darling…’ that has made a lot of news. I hope the audiences kind of love the way it is done,’ he added.
Bosco made the steps tougher for Deepika, who is appearing only in the special video shot for the promotion of Rohan Sippy’s crime thriller that stars Abhishek Bachchan and Bipasha Basu.
Talking about Deepika, Bosco said: ‘The minute we got to know it is Deepika, we pushed the envelope and made the dancing little tougher. What is really positive is that Deepika learnt the steps very gracefully and executed them very well.’
The title ‘Dum maro dum’ reminds one of the iconic song from the 1971 classic ‘Hare Rama Hare Krishna’, which was picturised on Zeenat Aman. The film was acted in and directed by Dev Anand.
Bosco claims the new track is fresh and least comparable with the old one.
‘The track is very new. The whole treatment is quite new and then we got going with the idea. We didn’t want to compare it with the old one because the old one is so huge, you know. We wanted an identity for our own song so made a completely different sounding track and gave a completely different look,’ said Bosco.
‘You cannot overshadow something, which is eternal. You cannot compare and you cannot say this (new one) is better. They (classics) are priceless in their own form and it’s completely different treatment that we have given to ‘Dum Maro Dum’. That was chilled out, it’s more dance based,’ he added.
‘Dum Maro Dum’ is scheduled to release worldwide April 22.

Dum and dumber?
Dev Anand was once the only one to express his displeasure towards the makers of the forthcoming film, Dum Maaro Dum, for remixing the cult song from his blockbuster, Hare Rama Hare Krishna (1971). But since the item song, remixed by Pritam, went on air, many more have thrashed the track featuring Deepika Padukone for its crude lyrics, penned by Jaideep Sahni.
When quizzed on this, Deepika says that the song sung by Anushka Manchanda is different from what people had expected. “Dum maaro dum... is an iconic song and they have Zeenat Aman’s image in their minds,” she says.
“From the beginning, Rohan (director Rohan Sippy) was clear that the song’s look and feel should be different. It comes in the middle of the film and is shot in a particular way, keeping the story in mind.”
When told that many listeners have been complaining about the lyrics, the actor argues that it’s the director’s vision. “Actors have no control over the lyrics,” she shrugs. “We’re not meant to be ourselves. It’s rare that you get to be yourself in a film. That happened with me only in Love Aaj Kal.”
She is surprised that some consider the Dum Maaro Dum team, which launched the item song during the India-South Africa match, jinxed for the Men In Blue, who lost the match. “Two teams were playing to win, nothing could have influenced them.”
Deepika asserts that she’s overwhelmed by the feedback she has received for her performance in the song. “The last time I was on a high was when Om Shanti Om and Love Aaj Kal released.”
She was in for a surprise when she returned from Bhopal, after a marathon spell of her next film, Prakash Jha’s Aarakshan, to find a parcel of short skirts sent to her by some fans. “I think it was a really sweet gesture, though I don’t know what to do with them,” she laughs.
The new Dum maaro dum... song
Hey… Kya phir dekh raha hai?
Aaj aankh sek raha hai, kal haath sekega,
Aaj dheel chhod raha hai, kal khud hi tokega,
Aaj mere liye chair kheench raha hai, kal meri skirt kheenchega.
Kheenchega ki nahin?…
… Oonche se ooncha banda, potty pe baithe nanga,
Phir kaaheki society saali, kaahe ka paakhanda…
Chorus: Dum maaro dum, mit jaaye gham,
Bolo subah shaam, Hare Krishna Hare Raam…

Ranbir-Deepika will try and get back together?
Her item number in 'Dum Maaro Dum' was an excuse to get the two of them talking?
Just as we thought not all was well between Deepika Padukone and Ranbir Kapoor, we hear the two have buried the hatchet, finally. And there remains no ill-will between them despite Deepika Padukone's cheesy comments on her once upon a time boyfriend Ranbir Kapoor, whilst she was a guest on Karan Johar's chat show.

Bipasha Basu and Deepika Padukone in Fistfight?
Shocking! Bipasha Basu claims that she got into a fistfight with Dum Maaro Dum item girl Deepika Padukone on the set of the movie! A media stunt to get the buzz going about the film or true story?
Actually, Bips was simply trying to make a point that the press is always looking for drama when two B-town heroines have to share screen time. But the Bengali bombshell insists there is nothing to the latest rumors!
"Yeah, we had fistfights too. I was thinking of taking a picture of Deepika and me embroiled in a fist fight and putting it up on Twitter for the media," the actress told Hindustan Times.
But in reality, Bips supports her fellow actress and is happy that her item number is a hit. "The song is already a chartbuster. And I'm sure it'll work for us," she said. Are you looking forward to seeing both Bips and Dips in Dum Maaro Dum?

Deepika shifts base in London
It's all work for Deepika Padukone who is shooting three films there
Deepika Padukone's forthcoming films take her to London's cooler climes. She beats the heat with Rohit Dhawan's Desi Boyz, Rajnikanth's Rana and Homi Adjania's untitled project with Saif Ali Khan.
However, she will make her appearances during the IPL season.
She muses, "It's all for work. One has to keep travelling, this time it's almost for three long months. But, I do plan to come back when my schedules allow me."
Deepika leaves before the release of Dum Maaro Dum. She features in an item number in the film.
DEEPIKA'S TAKES
ON THE MIXED REACTIONS TO THE DMD VIDEO
"I am not surprised. Everyone is entitled to their opinion. Our attempt was to take a classic, iconic song and give it a modern-day twist. This one is for today's generation. It sounds and looks contemporary."
ON COMPARISONS TO SHEILA AND MUNNI
This isn't a music video, it's a part of the film. I am really happy with what we have achieved and people forget that I did an item song in Billu Barber with Shah Rukh. So this isn't my first."
ON DOING ITEM NUMBERS IN THE FUTURE
"Surely, why not? But it all depends on what's offered and the concept."

Ranbir Kapoor Finds Deepika Padukone’s Item Song Hot!
Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone have managed to put across a friendly face even after their break up. Though things soured a bit after Deepika recommended Ranbir to be the brand ambassador for condoms in a talk show with Karan Johar, looks like the civility is back between the two.
News is that he even complimented her on her dance and looks in her item song in Dum Maaro Dum. With that teensy-weensy skirt and low top, we’re not surprised! But that doesn’t mean there’s something brewing between the old lovers.
In fact, Ranbir already has someone in his life, Anushka Sharma. There have been rumours that RK is even promoting his new found flame Anushka Sharma and wants to be paired opposite the Band Baaja Baaraat star in Ayan Mukerji’s next movie. The only problem is that the film was supposed to star Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone! Wonder how DP is going to take this.

Mallika, Deepika in for item songs
Hot item songs have become the order of the day, yet again. In between, item songs had gone extinct in Hindi films, but after 'Munni' (Dabangg) and 'Sheila' (Tees Maar Khan), item songs are back and how! In fact, several film-makers attempting masala films are ensuring that there's scope for at least one item number in the film.
What's even more surprising is the fact that the top league actors are more than enthusiastic when it comes to featuring in item songs, looking at the popularity of these numbers.
Mallika Sherawat's 'Razia' from Thank You and Deepika Padukone's 'Dum Maaro Dum' from Dum Maaro Dum have just been released, while David Dhawan has just filmed an item song on Sanju and Lisa Haydon for Rascals and Ready will feature a song on -- you guessed it right -- Salman Khan.
That's not all, there's talk that SRK will feature in an item song in his home-production Always Kabhi Kabhi, directed by Roshan Abbas.

Abhishek's 'Thayn Thayn' to challenge Deepika's 'Dum Maaro Dum'
One has heard stories of one actor taking on his counterpart from some other film in cases of professional rivalry. However, seldom does one see something like this happening within the same film. What also makes it even more surprising and quite rare is when it's the case of the leading man taking on an actress who has been roped in for a special song and dance affair.
"However this is what has happened in case of Dum Maaro Dum", informs a source who has been closely following the chain of events related to the film, "It was a given that the film would have a top actress gyrating to an item number for the film. The chosen song was the re-arranged version of the classic 'Dum Maaro Dum' and Deepika Padukone managed to make the cut. The song was kept in news right through the making of the film and has now been released in the biggest way possible during the World Cup. It is all turning out to be a rage."
However, this is where the other angle comes into picture. If one would have thought that Bipasha Basu, the official leading lady of the film, would have raised a hue and cry around her missing out on all the action then that was not the case. Instead, the man who was actually considered by the makers to step up from the front and get his own jig going to give Deepika some competition was Abhishek Bachchan.
"Abhishek and Rohan Sippy, the film's director, are childhood buddies and he worked in his debut directorial venture Kuch Naa Kaho when both were just starting off. The film flopped but the relationship continued with Bluffmaster. This is where Abhishek crooned 'Ek Main Aur Ek Tu Hai' which turned into a chartbuster", continues the source, "It was imperative that along with Deepika's 'Dum Maaro Dum', a special number by Abhishek too had to be incorporated into the film. There was no going back on that."
Pronto an SOS was sent to composer Pritam and a song was designed that suited AB Baby's personality as well as singing style. Lyricist Jaideep Sahni was entrusted with the responsibility of penning the lyrics of this rap song that makes a social statement while taking a dig upon Ministers, cops, goons as well as corruption.
When contacted, composer Pritam did confirm that there was a requirement for an Abhishek number. "Yes, it is a special song which is titled 'Thayn Thayn'", says Pritam, "It has a funky groove to it and Abhishek has cracked it. I was amazed that he could catch the nuances so well."
Now it has to be seen whether Abhishek's 'Thayn Thayn' turns the heat on Deepika's 'Dum Maaro Dum'.

Rajni postpones Himalaya trip for Deepika
Since Deepika Padukone is busy with multiple films, Rajinikanth has postponed his regular visit to Himalayas to adjust dates for their next Rana.
When it comes to South superstar Rajinikanth, we all know how important his Himalayan trip is for him. He makes it a point to visit the serene Himalayas before and after he completes every film. However for the first time Rajinikanth, who was scheduled to visit Himalayas sometime soon, has postponed his holiday for none other than Deepika Padukone.
Deepika Padukone will star opposite him in his next 3D live action animation adventure film Rana. The actress who recently completed shooting for Prakash Jha's Aarakshan is now busy shooting her next films with Saif Ali Khan, Akshay Kumar and John Abraham. With her tight shooting schedules, Deepika could allot only limited dates in a month for Rana's shoot. So reportedly Rana , which was earlier to be shot in a continuous schedule, is now not being shot at a stretch.
Sources claim that Rajinikanth was so upbeat about having Deepika Padukone opposite him in the film that he agreed to adjust the shooting of Rana as per her date availability. Also the modest superstar knows how to respect an artist's earlier commitments.
Incidentally Deepika Padukone was also the first choice for Rajinikanth's Robot .

Deepika gets unusual gifts from fans
Deepika Padukone was shocked to see the reaction of her fans to her raunchy item number, ‘Dum Maro Dum’. She was stuck to see the mail delivered to her house. She received not one or two but nine skirts of various sizes from her admirers. Usually, she receives mail containing soft toys, chocolates and greeting cards but this time they expressed their love by gifting skirts to Deepika.
A source reveals, "Usually her fan mail is kept in a separate room. So whenever she comes back from outdoor shoots, she personally sits and reads through each one.
There are times when she's replied to her fan's letters as well. But nothing prepared her for nine skirts!"
The length of the skirts vary. "Some are extremely long, while others are short. She feels these are reactions to her Dum Maro Dum item number.
After returning from ‘Aakarshan’ shoot in Bhopal, Deepika opened up the gifts and she was surprised.
She reacts, "I've just come home. It has just hit me ¦ it's all because of Dum Maaro Dum."

Who is Deepika Padukone's ideal?
Deepika Padukone is undoubtedly one of the hottest youth icons of today and the younger generation, particularly girls and aspiring actresses take inspiration from her amazing success story.
The 'never say die' spirit of a sportswoman, which Deepika has inherited from her father, ace badminton star, Prakash Padukone, is reflected in her approach to work as well, and despite two flops in the form of BREAK KE BAAD and KHELEIN HUM JEE JAAN SEY, Deepika is back in the limelight with her sizzling tattooed look in DUM MAARO DUM, that has captured the imagination of the youth and has made DMD an awaited film.
Interestingly, very recently a question was put forth to Deepika by the fourth estate as to who was her ideal woman? And the answer had everyone surprised because it was not any of yesteryear's top actresses but a sportswoman who has done India proud on numerous occasions in the field of boxing that occupied a high place in Deepika's eye.
Yes, we are talking about Mary Kom, the wonder woman from Manipur who has won the world boxing championship five times. So what was it about Mary Kom that impressed Deepika?
Well, according to Deepika, Mary Kom is an ideal for many (especially women) and the reason is because of the way she has managed to maintain a fine balance between her work and her family and has excelled in her career and at the same time given time to her family coming out triumphant against all odds. Deepika added that Mary was worth admiring because after getting married she took a two year break and came back and won the world championship title twice and did not let marriage affect her at all.
Certainly, she may have inherited the sportsman spirit from her father but an ideal like Mary Kom is definitely an inspiration that will drive many others too.

Deepika vs Katrina vs Priyanka in 'Dhoom 3'?
B-towns reigning beauty queens Katrina Kaif, Priyanka Chopra and Deepika Padukone are eyeing the empty lead female slot in ‘Dhoom 3’, in which Mr. Perfectionist Aamir Khan plays the lead villain.
The buzz is that the third installment of ‘Dhoom’ franchise is slated to be bigger and hotter, and so, the three top stars are even more beguiled to be a part of the movie.
Junior Bachchan and Uday Chopra are going to be the other main characters, like in all the previous movies and the hunt for the female lead is on.
“With Aamir Khan coming on board to play the villain in the film, all the leading ladies are even more enticed to be a part of Dhoom 3. The ladies in contention are Priyanka Chopra, Deepika Padukone and Katrina Kaif. Although, none of the three actresses have ever worked with Aamir, they are Aditya Chopra’s favorites,” informed a close source.
Who has the maximum chances of getting the role?
While the three ladies are trying their best to bag the dream role, analysts are looking at who among the three, had the maximum chances of playing the female lead in ‘Dhoom 3’.
Priyanka Chopra has worked with Uday Chopra in ‘Pyaar Impossible’ and even Deepika Padukone has worked with Yash Raj Films. And Katrina Kaif, who has not worked with the YRF before, seems to be the on top of the list for Aditya Chopra.
“Katrina seems to be winning the race followed by Priyanka and then Deepika. The leading lady of Dhoom 3 needs to don a bikini and be at her sexiest best. Adi is taking keen interest to cast the right girl, along with the writer-director Vijay Krishna Acharya," said a source.
But the dream of all these actresses may be shattered if Yash Raj Films decides to introduce a new girl in the movie, a trend that has become quite common for the banner.
Hunt for female lead is yet to begin?
Though speculations are on about the leading lady of ‘Dhoom 3’, a YRF spokesperson said that the hunt for the female lead has not begun yet.
“This is mere conjecture. We haven’t begun casting beyond those announced Aamir Khan, Abhishek Bachchan and Uday Chopra. You will need to wait for our announcement,” he said.
Well, we hope to soon hear about the female lead of ‘Dhoom 3’ and till then Deepika, Katrina and Priyanka will also have to wait.

Saif's hot scene with Deepika turns Bebo green
Kareena Kapoor surprised all by landing up on the sets of Prakash Jha's Aarakshan in Bhopal, where her boyfriend Saif Ali Khan is currently filming with Deepika Padukone.
Her near-surprise flight to Bhopal has been the subject of gossip in industry circles.
Reportedly, Saif has been shooting some steamy scenes with Deepika for Aarakshan and that in turn has left Kareena a little concerned about his growing on and off-screen chemistry with her.
"Kareena heard that Saif would be shooting some intense romantic scenes with Deepika, including a long kissing scene. It is widely believed she rushed to Bhopal to 'monitor' the scenes. She was not too happy to hear about the kissing scene," a source in the Aarakshan unit said.
Saif and Deepika have shared a good rapport ever since they worked together in Love Aaj Kal. It may be recalled that Saif, who had produced the film, and director Imtiaz Ali had insisted on Deepika as that film's heroine over Kareena because they felt the dusky stunner suited the role more than Saif's actress girlfriend.
Kareena is quite possessive about Saif and in the past has always made it a point to spend time with him at his outdoor locations whenever she can.
Ironically, Deepika herself was in a similar situation in 2009 when her then boyfriend Ranbir Kapoor was shooting outdoors with Katrina Kaif for Rajkumar Santoshi's Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani.
Hearing reports of Ranbir's growing closeness with Katrina, Deepika had once landed up at the shooting location unannounced to reportedly 'keep a check' on Ranbir.
Kareena, however, seems to be in a more secure spot in her relationship with Saif. While Ranbir's parents, Rishi and Neetu Kapoor, were known to disapprove of his relationship with Deepika, the case is just the opposite for Kareena. Saif's dad Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi and mom Sharmila Tagore are very fond of Kareena and the actress is also known to bond with his sisters.
Reportedly, it did not take much time for Saif to sort out this issue.

Deepika says no to smoking!
Deepika Padukone was asked to smoke up before she started shooting for the Dum Maaro Dum song "to get into the mood."
But Dips flatly refused to do so. She felt it wasn't necessary to light up (which she considers a bad and unhealthy habit) to get into the groove. Her logic was that she could do it any which way being an actor. Her director Rohan Sippy confirms, "It is true that I had advised her to smoke up but she told me that she just won't do it. We understood her logic and did not push her." People are really pushing the buck when it comes to method acting, no?

Siddharth, Deepika leaving on a 'jet' plane
Sidhartha Mallya and girlfriend Deepika Padukone spotted boarding a rival airline
Sidhartha Mallya and his girlfriend Deepika Padukone were seen at the international airport on Tuesday night. They were flying out to Thailand to attend a common friend's wedding. But what was interesting was that they boarded a rival airline, and not one owned by his father Vijay Mallya, even though they have regular flights to Bangkok.

Without make-up Deepika is just another face
Everyone knows Prakash Jha makes realistic films even when it's a glamorous star-studded larger-than-life drama like Raajneeti Jha has certain dos and don't's about the way his actors and actresses should appear before the camera.
No makeup in Prakash Jha's range of camera vision means absolutely no makeup. It was therefore no surprise to know that Deepika Padukone appears without even a dab of lip-gloss in Aarakshan wearing the most ordinary salwar-kameez outfits reminding everyone including Pratik Babbar, of Pratik's late much-missed mom Smita Patil. On the streets of Bhopal where she is shooting Deepika passes off as just another face in the crowd.
Last week while doing a huge breakdown scene with Saif Ali Khan in the artificial rain with absolutely no accessory or adornment on her person, Deeepika pulled out all stops to deliver a rousing performance that left everyone including the Big B impressed.
Says a source from Bhopal, “It was a long sequence in artificial rain where Deepika confronts Saif. We don't know what triggered off that huge powerhouse of emotions in Deeepika. But she simply broke down. We suspect Deepika referred back in her own life to feel the agony of her character reaching out to a man who won't express his love.”

Deepika’s WC debut
The high point of this Saturday’s match in Nagpur has already been fixed. No, we’re not suggesting any fixing in the India-South Africa face-off at the Vidharba Cricket Association Stadium, but about the entertainment quotient during the crucial league match. It is learnt that the Dum maaro Dum item song, featuring Deepika Padukone, will be aired during the break after the first session of the match.
High on hype
Ever since director Rohan Sippy signed Padukone on for the item song in his action thriller, Dum Maaro Dum, there has been increasing curiosity about how it will eventually turn out. Stories of the actor’s late night rehearsals and exhaustive shooting, including a session with 50 red ants crawling on her back, has all added to the hype of the song.
Besides, the strenuous moments also reportedly took a toll on the actor, and by the end of the four-day shoot, she required a physiotherapist to help her relax. An insider at Sippy’s production office says that the World Cup launch had not been planned initially.
“But ever since Deepika’s look was released in the media, the response has been tremendous. We have been receiving requests to release a glimpse of the song in the next promo. But we didn’t want it to get lost in the trailer, so we were thinking of ways to ensure that maximum people see the song when it is launched,” elaborates the unit member.
Big moment
“Since India’s match against South Africa is a crucial one for both teams, it’s a foregone conclusion that all cricket worshippers will be glued to their television sets. So launching the song during this match would result in high viewership, and unusually high recall value,” points out our source. So, come Saturday, and Sippy will be cheering for Men In Blue from the stands, along with his team comprising Abhishek Bachchan, Bipasha Basu, Rana Dugabatti, Prateik Babbar and Padukone herself.
When contacted, Sippy conceded that they thought of launching the song because they have been “inundated with requests from a huge number of fans. We thought the India —South Africa match would be most perfect,” he said, adding, “Now, we’re only looking forward to the response it generates.”

Ranbir Kapoor said no to Deepika, to pair with Katrina Kaif in Ayan’s next movie
It seems that the audience would see a lot of the Ranbir Kapoor and Katrina Kaif in the recent time as they are pairing up for not one but two movies. News are coming that the beautiful British- Indian origin heroine Katrina Kaif was the second choice for Ayan Mukherjee’s next movie with Ranbir Kapoor. The first choice was Deepika Padukone.
After the Koffee with Karan disaster where Deepika went on and on about her cheating Ex boyfriend Ranbir Kapoor, it seems that nothing amicable is left between them and Ranbir said no when Ayan thought of casting Deepika opposite him. Ayan Mukherjee of the fame ‘ Wake up Sid’ is also Ranbir’s best friend and keeping in mind his friends happiness he chose Katrina instead for his next movie.
Nowadays due to the given fact that all of them would be working together on a movie Ranbir Kapoor and lady love Katrina Kaif is spotted a lot in Ayan Mukherjee’s Santacruz house. Although the film is in its nascent stage, the threesome is putting their heads together for the project.
Another film in which the audience would see Ranbir and Katrina is the Hindi remake if the south Indian film Maghadheera. The film is based in the medieval times and the both the actors are playing a prince and a princess respectively. It is the love story where the characters die and are reincarnated after 400 years to the present day. It would be exciting to see Katrina Kaif playing the role of a princess and Ranbir Kapoor playing the role of a prince.

Deepika takes acting tips from Big B
Deepika Padukone has found her acting mentor in Amitabh Bachchan. On the sets of Arakshan, she was spotted asking Big B for tips to perfect her shot.
Amitabh, too, has been most welcoming to the rising star. Informers tell us that Dippy has been saying that the film is one of the toughest films yet and she's loving having veterans like Big B and Hema Malini, to learn from them. How guru-cool is that?

Choreographer Bosco talks about comparisons between Zeenat Aman and Deepika Padukone resulting from the 'Dum Maaro Dum' item song.
Deepika Padukone's much-talked about item number in Dum Maaro Dum is overshadowing everything else associated with the film. Ask the man behind Deepika's seductive gyrations in the song, choreographer Bosco Martis and he says, "Something like this happened with Dus in 2005 when the entire promotion of the film was modeled around the title track. Dus Bahane had almost become a national anthem then".
