Deepika Padukone conquers vertigo to head for the Everest
Ranbir Kapoor’s ex flame cum sexy-legged lass Deepika Padukone showed great guts and tremendous commitment as she overcame her fears for her film assignment.
The model turned actress, who debuted opposite Shahrukh Khan in ‘Om Shanti Om’, had to clamour some wooden platforms placed at some decent height. And even though she is extremely tall and looks down on her co-stars from great heights, she does have her apprehensions and doesn’t quite like the height factor.
But, despite her vertigo, Deepika stayed unruffled and didn’t even allow others to get an inkling of her fear factor. All this transpired during a photo shoot with renowned photographer Avinash Gowariker.
Though, she kept her fears to herself, she was ecstatic on pulling off the shoot. And she did confess to feeling petrified after the shoot wrapped up. In fact, Avinash was a tad baffled when he came to know of her dreaded experience.
The effortlessness, ease and aplomb with which Deepika did her shoots never permitted any betrayal. She masked her trepidations so well that he was dumb-struck when she came up with her guilty admission.
Nevertheless, despite her altitude-unease, she is climbing the ladders of success fast and furious and with newer heights beckoning her, she is also touted to reach the Everest of Bollywood (after Aishwarya Rai hangs her boots).

Deepika, Imran forbidden from tweeting about film
Film director Kunal Kohli, currently shooting for his film Break Ke Baad in Mauritius, has forbidden lead actors Deepika Padukone and Imran Khan from talking about the film on social networking sites on the internet.
Kohli told IANS: "I've only asked Deepika and Imran to desist from tweeting for three weeks until Imran's new film I Hate Luv Storys is released. I don't want any overlapping in the public's subconscious about the two films. Once Imran's other film is out, he and Deepika are free to tweet to their heart's content."
This is the second instance when actors have been prohibited from tweeting about a film. In the past, Sajid Nadiadwala had to restrain Ranbir Kapoor and Priyanka Chopra from talking about the film Anjaana Anjaani on the net.
The director's restrictions have, apparently, not been taken well by Imran who was heard grumbling loudly about the curtailment of the freedom of expression.
Justifying his stand, Kohli determinedly said: "I really don't approve of stars giving out information on micro-blogging sites, but I don't think we should stop them. What I can do is to decide when is the right time to tweet."

Deepika Padukone voted sexiest by FHM
She has the body to die for and that smile is one of Bollywood's most famous. Now, Deepika Padukone has been rated the 'sexiest woman in the world' by FHM.
"Sexy is not about the amount of skin you show. It is more about how confident you are, how you carry yourself. It's a measure of your being just what you are. Ultimately, 'sexy' is about how you feel about yourself from within," explains Deepika.
She also speaks about a certain 'Sid' in her life. "Siddharth is a great guy. Based on whatever little time I got to spend with him during the matches, I found him to be a wonderful person. But, the fact is that I am very much single!"
There is a God!

Deepika Padukone's mega adrenaline rush
Some have dreams and some like Deepika Padukone have the desire to turn their dreams into reality. After Hrs has learnt that the actor, who has taken to deep sea diving in a big way and is busy preparing herself to become a professionally trained deep sea diver, will also become a sky diver soon.
Looks like the actor is quite a risk taker at heart as extreme adventure sports is certainly giving her kicks. “Sky diving is the real adventure sport. Trust me, after deep sea diving, I will fly in the air. Both are a big adrenaline rush for me. I will take to sky diving later this year,” Deepika says, laughing.
However, as of now sea diving is the thing that is setting Deepika’s pulse racing. “Sea diving has been my dream for a long time and since now I can find time after my film shoot, I told myself why not go for it. I have always loved the sea and the idea of diving into it and exploring it and seeing fascinating colours and plants and fish inside it has always excited me. I have got myself a professional trainer and right now I’m just building my stamina to stay in the sea for a longer time. It is a difficult thing to master but I think I’m doing quite well,” she says.
The young actor adds, “My goal is to become a professional deep sea diver. There have been a few things that I have really wanted to get in my life and this is one of them. I feel nothing you learn in life goes for a waste. Maybe I will get a film that involves me doing stunts in the ocean and then I will have no hesitation to take the plunge and do a better job than others. I believe in adding attributes to myself. It only helps in the long run.”
Ask her if she will promote the culture of deep sea diving in India and Deepika says, “Why not? I quite like the idea to open an academy. I can train people myself once I become a pro. Very few people in India are certified deep sea divers in India and so many are missing out on seeing and enjoying things that are not visible on the earth. I wish to motivate my friends and colleagues to take to it too.”

Deepika Padukone virtually stole the thunder right under Aishwarya Rai
Deepika Padukone virtually stole the thunder right under Aishwarya Rai.”It is not about who wore what, who else was there and who did what”, Deepika doesn’t quite bite the bait, “I went there just for myself, look my best and make the best of the time that I was there.
For me, as long as I have achieved that and given 100%, it doesn’t matter who else was there.”
One believes though that at the back of the mind, she would have hoped for international film makers to catch her presence at the event.
After all she was representing Bollywood and hence arc lights were bound to be directed at her. Would she have liked reaching out to global audience through this festival and perhaps look forward to some global assignments coming her way?
“Yes, Why not?” If people take notice by themselves and something good comes up then why not? You should use that opportunity if it enters your doors.

Darling open the door, open the door, why you angry so…… well that happens with couples who are in relationships but at Delhi on the night of ‘Raajneeti’ premiere it was a very dramatic story.
The grapevine is a buzz with this news that Ranbir knocked Deepika’s door at night where she was staying and the girl refused to let her ex flame in.

At late night, Ranbir drove to the hotel in which she was staying and knocked her door, Deepika didn’t answer the knocks. Ranbir tried again and again but the girl didn’t want to help her ex flame.

Ranbir Kapoor, John Abraham, Deepika Padukone – Bollywood was never so bold!
Gone are the days when birds and the bees were the only ways to imply the sexuality in Bollywood! With time and circumstances, our own Bolly-town has matured and walking almost hand-in-hand with its more experienced counterpart Hollywood!
There was a time when the actress were all clad in sarees and salwar kameez teamed up with pleated dupattas. Years passed by and the actresses grew bolder with their outfits and presentation. The definition of beauty molded in skimpy and revealing dresses. Eventually it was only nudity that reigned supremely over every other requirement in Indian cinema.
And just when you thought that you have seen it all, our male hot bodes stunned with exposing their assets! Yes, male nudity is the latest buzz in the showbiz world in Bollywood.
The skin show of actresses is a stale stuff in Indian cinema now. Competing with Hollywood in terms of nudity, Bollywood is not only catching up with the trend fast, but it is also posing a threat to its bolder counterpart in certain aspects.
The trend which was started lately by the bold babes like Priyanka Chopra, Lara Dutta, Deepika Padukone, etc. has been soon taken over by the sultry hunks of Bollywood.
The year 2008 was when male nudity triggered off in tinsel town. The year when Saawariya presented a towel clad Ranbir Kapoor who also went bare back for the camera. John’s butt cleavage stopped many heart beats in Dostana. So did Shahrukh Khan’s shirtless six-packs under water which only heated up the barometer in Om Shanti Om. Akshay Kumar’s shaved chest flashed before the cameras for the denim ad seducing several female fans.
Well, not to forget the famous nude scene of Neil Nitin Mukesh in Jail which could surpass most of the mentioned acts. Newcomer Maradona Rebello too blew the sex siren in Pankh by revealing all!
Like we said, Bollywood is the boldest ever. If it has already touched male nudity, we wonder what still remains under wraps…frontal nudity?

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Deepika Padukone: The International quotient!
Bollywood stars Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Deepika Padukone are two of the most dazzling stars, which have managed to create a niche for themselves in the International arena.
Somehow, the two have managed to be at opposite sides of the road, even though being on the same platform, which has sparked off quite a furor on the film circuits.
The recent Cannes film festival, which had both the breath taking beauties juggling out equal attention from the media as well as the frenzied audience, did contribute to the comparison of both the leading stars of bollywood.
If Deepika Padukone had grabbed media attention by donning the sari, Aishwarya had her gowns to flaunt. The two were constantly compared, as in Deepika Padukone being offered work by the renowned Woody Allen, and Ash being invited for lunch at the pavilion of Martin Scorsese, one of the top names in Hollywood, where they discussed movies, on a large scale.
Now, there are reports that Aishwarya Rai Bachchan is to be a guest in the famous chat show on American Television, by Oprah Winfrey.Reportedly, Oprah is on the verge of inviting the B-town beauty for her new show on TV.
Thus, this game of one-upmanship between Ash and Deepika is getting hotter by the day.
It remains to be seen who eventually emerges the winner in the International segment, thereby proving who’s quotient is better off!

Deepika Padukone ready to go international
Last month, Deepika Padukone walked the red carpet at Cannes film festival. While for her, it was just a matter of few hours spent in an international arena, back home there were widespread conversations around her moment of glory.
Currently stationed in Mauritius for the shoot of Break Ke Baad, she is modest enough not to get into the details of all the calls and messages, most of which have hailed her saree clad look. Also, she avoids queries that are centred on how she virtually stole the thunder right under Aishwarya Bachchan's nose by bringing in a fresh and new touch to her styling and costume.
"It is not about who wore what, who else was there and who did what", Deepika doesn't quite bite the bait, "I went there just for myself, look my best and make the best of the time that I was there. For me, as long as I have achieved that and given 100%, it doesn't matter who else was there."
One believes though that at the back of the mind, she would have hoped for international filmmakers to catch her presence at the event. "Yes, Why not? If people take notice by themselves and something good comes up then why not? You should use that opportunity if it enters your doors. But if you are asking me if there were any feelers that I got right at the spot then the answer is no", laughs Deepika.
Well, while the wait for international assignments may be a little longer, closer home Deepika is super busy with multiple films in different stages of production. Before the year comes to a close, she would be seen in Ashutosh Gowariker's Khelein Hum Jee Jaan Se (Abhishek Bachchan), Karan Johar's Break Ke Baad (Imran Khan) and Yash Raj Films' Lafange Parinde (Neil Nitin Mukesh).

I am the happiest underwater: Deepika
Deepika Padukone learns scuba diving and plans to go skydiving next
Deepika Padukone is shooting for her next film Break Ke Baad in Mauritius with Imran Khan. She has taken the chance to indulge in some adventure sports. During her breaks and in her spare time, she has managed to learn scuba diving and is set to also learn sky diving.
Deepika confirmed the news and said, “Yes, it is something that I always wanted to do. I have always been athletic and have been inclined towards different kinds of sports. But in India one never gets the opportunity to do this kind of a thing. So the moment I arrived, I met some professionals and I am becoming a certified diver. I just have two classes left.”
The water baby talks about her experience. She said, “I must say that I am the happiest underwater. I am extremely fond of swimming and I think I can swim pretty well. But I was nervous the first time I went underwater as it was really deep and in the middle of the ocean. But I started enjoying it the moment I got the hang of it. It is such a beautiful feeling and it makes you realise that there is much more to life than the way we lead it.”
When asked about learning sky diving, she said, “Yes, as I will be in Mauritius for a month, I will definitely learn that too. However, my producer has said that I should finish shooting first.”
